Are Student Loans available for your programs ?
Yes. Please check out the Student Loans and Student Information links from the menu on the left. If you need help with filling out your application, our staff can assist you.
What is the tuition rebate ?
The Government of New Brunswick is offering a tuition rebate of up to $ 10,000.00 for students that work and pay taxes in New Brunswick after their studies. Full information on this great program can be found on the menu on your left.
What kind of financial protection do I have ?
The Atlantica Centre for the Arts is registered with the Province of New Brunswick under the Private Occupational Training Act. As such, we have a bond with the Province and students pay a student protection fee as part of their registration to the Province. Both are designed to protect students financially and if a New Brunswick Post-Secondary School closes, the Department of Post-Secondary Education finds a suitable replacement for any affected students, so that they can complete their education.
Will I be able to work part time?
Yes! Our programs are designed so that each student has time to have a part-time job. Many of our current students have part time jobs and have no difficulty juggling their job while studying. International Students must apply for and secure a working visa as well as a study visa if they wish to obtain employment while studying in Canada.
When can I take a tour ?
We offer personalized tours all the time. Give us a call or request a tour from the menu on the left to set up a time that works for you.
Can I bring any family members for a tour ?
Absolutely ! We actually encourage family members to come. Since we are a small school, we want everybody to feel comfortable with the decision to study here, including your family. We encourage more than one visit. Don't be afraid to ask questions - we are here to answer any and all of them !
I am from out of town. Can I visit after hours ?
Yes, of course. Please contact us to set up a convenient time for you and our instructors.
I am from out of Province or Country and cannot make a visit. How can I find out more ?
Send us an email or give us a call. We can set up one or more phone interviews, where we can answer any questions you may have. Just because you are not from here doesn't mean that we will not take the same amount of time we do with local students. We'd love to hear from you.
How does the application procedure work?
Once a completed application is received at the school, (completed application, cover letter, resume, 2 letters of reference, transcripts and $100 application fee - non-refundable), the applicant is contacted by phone or email to schedule an interview date and time. Applicants are interviewed by the Program Director(s). Applications that are incomplete will not be processed for interview until all information has been received.
What type of references are you looking for ?
Former employers, teachers or someone that you know who has a professional career designation that can vouch for you. We generally do not accept reference letters from your parents or direct relatives. References should be typed on letterhead and delivered with your application submission in a sealed envelope.
Will I be accepted as a student if I have not completed High School ?
If you are looking to apply for Canada or New Brunswick Student Loans, you will need to have a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent. An equivalent would be a GED (General Education Diploma), an entrance exam from another post-secondary school that is recognized by the New Brunswick Department of Post Secondary Education or a recognized mature student test.
If you do not wish to apply for Canada or New Brunswick Student Loans and have other means of paying for the tuition, we do NOT require a Secondary School Diploma or equivalent.
However, you must be able to prove that you have the mental capacity to follow the program and not slow down the process and other students. We realize that a lot of talented artists have difficulty with "regular school work" and that they are very capable of being very productive and talented members of the artistic community. Talk to us to find out, if this program is for you.
