The TOEFL Test - Test of English as a Foreign Language

A valuable tool for students who would like to study abroad in English, the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) test opens more doors than any other academic English test. More than 6,000 institutions and agencies in 110 countries rely on TOEFL scores to select students with the English skills needed to succeed. The TOEFL test covers all facets of English proficiency, including a test of spoken English.

The Atlantica Centre for the Arts uses the TOEFL test to evaluate foreign language students.

How To Apply To Atlantica College

Application procedure

You can print out an application form or use the below electronic sign-up form to apply.

All applications should include:

1. A completed and signed application form
2. All transcripts of previous education (High School, Post Secondary) Photocopies of originals are accepted.
3. Cover letter & résumé
4. Two letters of reference on letterhead in sealed envelopes
5. $100.00 non-refundable application fee

Enrolment Process

1. Issue letter confirming receipt of application Review applications for completeness
2. Confirm prospective student has attended an information session and tour or has spoken on a number of occasions to staff by phone (for out of Province students).
3. Review applications for eligibility.
4. Prospective student attends interview with the Director of the Program they are applying for. Telephone interviews are acceptable for out of Province students.
5. Issue letter confirming acceptance of successful applicants.

Information for out-of country applicants

We welcome students from outside of Canada. There are, however, a few important items that every student applying from outside of Canada must know before applying:

1. All applications will be considered equally to those of Canadian students.
2. All full-time courses are taught in English. It is the applicant's responsibility to be fluent in English to the point, where they can grasp the concept of the material and can actively participate in the process. Please see information about the TOEFL Test below.
3. It is the applicant's responsibility to obtain immigration or immigration visitor status to Canada in order to attend our programs.
4. The application fee for processing applications from outside of Canada is $ 500.00 Canadian. This fee is non-refundable and must accompany the application.

All other items are as outlined in the application package for Canadian applicants.

Your application will NOT be processed without the application fee.
Previous education transcripts and letters of reference can be mailed at a later date.

ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION FOR FOREIGN STUDENTS:
1. All communication must be in English.
2. Total tuition for Foreign Students is due in Canadian Funds upon notification of acceptance.
3. Foreign Students must meet requirements of Immigration Canada and obtain a Student Visa.
