Graphic Design Diploma Program

The Graphic Design program is designed to give students the building blocks to take them from the basics of design all the way to developing a career-ready professional portfolio with a world of options to pursue.

We provide our students with all the necessary skills for working in print, web, publishing, package design, exhibits, motion graphics, designed spaces, and video. Special guest speakers and real work environments will allow students to experience fine art design, studios, agencies, businesses and the entrepreneurial career paths that will be available to them when they graduate.

Our students will be guided through the principles of design, its history, and processes. They will be provided with a thorough understanding of the creative process, idea development, the design process, and production methods. Our students will also learn the fundamentals of colour theory, typography, drawing, sketching, and illustration. They will be designing for 2D, 3D, web, printing, packaging, TV and publishing.

Our multi-dimensional learning environment is combined with real world experience and industry standard hardware and software like the Adobe Creative Suite. Students will gain cutting edge web design skills for creating and maintaining websites, and integrating social media such as Facebook and Twitter.

Through highly interactive learning sessions, seminars and experienced guest speakers, students experience a multi-faceted approach where course material meets real world application. Extensive hands-on instruction in individual, small group, classroom, and school wide projects will build confidence, skills and the creative abilities to take-on real world design challenges.

Atlantica’s design program offers a balance of classroom instruction, video and film reviews, readings, and engaging projects that build necessary skills, and creative thinking for a variety of career choices. In addition to the training provided by our experienced instructors, we offer job placement assistance, portfolio development, job search training and interview strategies to guide students in finding employment in today’s job market.
