Marc Gosselin
Head Instructor Marc is the Director of the Recording Arts Program, as well as the in-house producer and engineer for Atlantica Studios. He is an active patron of the musical arts and has served the audio production community for more than 15 years. His extensive experience covers a wide spectrum of recording studio, live audio and radio production. His clients include CBC Radio 1 & 2, Radio Canada, Tour Tech East, and ARC-f de Saint Jean. In a live setting, he has mixed such acts as John Sebastien, Buck 65, Matt Mays, Bruce Guthro, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and countless festival and club acts. He recently traveled to Afghanistan with the Task Force Show Tour to entertain our deployed troops and live recorded Chickenfoot, Our Lady Peace, Finger 11 and Sloan at the Halifax Rockfest. He was the co-producer, engineer and mixer for the internationally acredited album "Hold On Tight" by Kevin Chase and has worked with a large range of other artists, such as Hospital Grade, Hot Toddy, Electric Blues Explosion, Dee Hernandez, Zwerg, and more.Dan Chamberlain
Audio Synthesis Instructor Dan has been playing organ and synth for the past 15 years, playing a diverse range of styles, which has made Dan a sought after session player, since he can play just about anything. He has been a regular on the local original music scene, playing live and /or recording with bands such as Porkchop Sandwiches, Halo, Penny Blacks and The Carousels. Dan has a great love for keyboards and the sounds they create. He owns more vintage keyboards than Kellogg's has corn flakes, along with a collection of other bizarre instruments and he continuously experiments with sounds.Jim Kuehnel
The Business of Music Instructor Jim Kuehnel is the General Manager of the Atlantica Centre for the Arts. Jim has spent most of his adult life in the entertainment industry. Besides having produced award nominated records, national tours and corporate functions, Jim has also been involved with some of the largest festivals on the East Coast in the capacity of production manager. He has booked thousands of shows across North America and Europe and has toured extensively on both continents. He has worked with a large number of internationally touring artists, such as Wayne Newton, Travis Tritt, The Moffatts, Celine Dion, Meat Loaf, Metallica, Collective Soul and ZZ Top to name a few. Prior to his involvement with the Atlantica Centre, he held the position of Festival & Events Resource Officer for Uptown Saint John Inc. In that capacity, he produced a number of festivals and events, worked closely with other festivals, as well as community leaders to create vitality in the uptown of the city, while being responsible for over $8,000,000.00 annually in economic spin-off to the area. Jim has taught courses in music management and marketing at other schools for several years and has developed several seminars that he teaches as a motivational speaker throughout Canada and has published a book on the subject. Jim manages several artists and is also an accredited FACTOR juror.Corey Bonnevie
Pro Tools Instructor Corey Bonnevie has been playing guitar ever since he was amazed by the guitarist in his brother’s band. Corey then decided to bug mom and dad to get him an electric guitar for Christmas and of course they did. He learned the ways of the guitar from teaching himself through reading theory books. Playing guitar in his bedroom wasn't enough so he then started jamming with some friends creating a local band called The Telecasts and this is where Corey was pushed to gain some guitar chops. To improve on his technique, Corey's been learning from Steve Zaat. Corey's always trying to find ways to challenge himself in the field of guitar playing and aspires to be more comfortable playing in any musical atmosphere. Corey advanced his overall knowledge by attending Atlantica’s Recording Arts Program, from which he graduated with High Honours. He currently teaches in the same program he graduated from as the Pro Tools Instructor and he works at Atlantica Studios as Second Engineer.Craig Gower
Urban Beats Instructor Craig Gower is a producer, beat maker, composer and mixing engineer, who specializes in the Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Club, Dance & Pop genres. Craig started producing records on the streets of Vancouver, where he quickly established a name for thinking outside of the box. His unique approach and ability to combine different styles made him the popular go-to-guy on the British Columbia hip hop scene. Over the past years, he has worked with Diffstyles, Dunn Hustle, John Saint, Lansky, Lin Gardiner, Junk, Depth, Kris The Kritik, Lab Dza, Peter Payne, Adam Cote, Cole Chillin, Geoffrey Leathwood, Ayrab, Big T, DEE, 7Figa, Remi Gold. In 2010, he re-located with his family to the East Coast and was looking to work in a studio environment that fosters and excels in producing commercial music and he quickly found Atlantica Studios to be the perfect match for his vision. Craig specializes in album production, beats, mixing and production collaborations.John Case
Pop Culture Instructor John Case is an Administrative Director at the Atlantica Centre covering Communications and the New Broadcast Media Program; he is also involved with Artist serives and event production for Atlantica Live. He majored in Information and Communication Studies under renowned media scholar Dr. Daniel Downes at UNB Saint John with supporting minors in Political Science and Philosophy. He has at various times been a songwriter, hip hop artist and stage actor. John`s background in education, and immersion in different entertainment cultures has afforded him a unique perspective on how Popular Culture works. In his "History of Popular Culture" class he guides Recording Arts students on a journey through the 20th Century exploring the Social, Economic and Political realities that shaped what we were listening to, what we watched, what we were buying and why.
