New Broadcast Media Diploma Program
Do you like telling stories? The News, TV, and Radio personalities we follow do too. The Atlantica Centre’s New Broadcast Media program prepares you for a career as a professional storyteller. We’ve drafted a diverse team of young and veteran working pro’s who have been leaders in their field to train the next generation of Broadcasters.
After 40 intensive weeks you will graduate as a confident, professional, new broadcaster. We give you the fundamentals in the classroom, then develop them through lots of lab and project work. As the course moves along the instructors do less teaching and more coaching you through supervised projects. You’ll learn to write and read increasingly more professional radio scripts in early stages of the On-Air and News modules, then more intensive reporting, and, writing and reading for TV in the later stages. You’ll cover all the subjects you’d hear on the news and special events. There are plenty of jobs all the way around the microphone so we develop the technical skills that a Broadcast Producer would need. We use Industry Standard gear and production software On-Site at Atlantica, and, you’ll be exposed to real Radio and Television studios and Live Broadcasts. What you specialize in through your career is up to you down the road, but we develop the whole Broadcaster so your options are wide open. You’ll be your own brand. Broadcast Pro’s put their face out to the world and get paid based on the size of their audience. We push an entrepreneurial approach. You’ll start your own Blog where your writing, radio show podcasts and studio video blogs will be displayed, you’ll consult with a Graphic Design student to set up it’s look and layout. Then you’ll learn to promote your brand online.COURSE CONTENT
