Week 3 – Planning for a shoot. Each student will formulate a plan for the course project. The concept is a common theme but each student puts their own particular style to it.
Week 4- The first half is a discussion on working in the industry and what is expected. The second half would be interview and press conference shooting as well as news style shoots. The basics and importance of audio will be part of this.
Week 5-Field trip day, possibly a Saturday at the City Market. This would be the theme for the exercise and the chance to shoot footage.
Week 6-Editing and how that fits into video production. For this course the project will not be edited. We will discuss the role of editing the basic techniques one should know but the main idea is to work toward the process of shooting and not rely heavily editing. This is important as it gets the camera person thinking as to why they are shooting shots and how that will tell a story.
Week 7-Show and tell night, watching each other’s videos, lots of discussion and a coffee or so, that’s a wrap.
